Band 2
Provided by Laura Peck
Laura's practice is devoted to civil litigation, including health care litigation, professional medical liability, pharmaceutical liability, labor and employment litigation, insurance litigation and appellate advocacy.
In her three decades of practice, Laura has tried more than 25 jury cases and successfully argued before the Alabama Supreme Court. Laura’s recent successes include obtaining a dismissal, without trial, of 25 medical malpractice cases within two years. She has also obtained several favorable judgments before the Alabama Supreme Court on behalf of doctors in negligence and defamation cases. In addition to physicians, Laura has successfully represented hospitals, including in a jury trial for a medical negligence case. Along with her work for clients, Laura frequently speaks to professional groups about litigation and employment issues. Laura understands the stress that comes with being named as a defendant in a medical malpractice case, because doctors and nurses want nothing more than to help their patients. Unfortunately, even the most diligent doctors and nurses can become involved in a malpractice suit at some point in their career. Laura’s mission is to alleviate some of that stress and guide them through the litigation process, providing both emotional and legal support.
