Land Murphy

Land Murphy handles complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. After earning his license as a certified public accountant and graduating first in his law-school class, Land launched his career as the top scorer on the Texas bar exam and as law clerk to Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He then entered private practice, first at a major international law firm and then at a prominent Texas boutique. He co-founded Murphy Ball Stratton LLP in 2024.

Land has tried nearly 20 cases to verdict or award. He is experienced with all manner of business disputes, involving breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, quiet title, usury, negligence, breach of warranty, products liability, business divorces, and more. His clients have included major energy companies, oilfield services companies, real-estate developers, medical-device manufacturers, bankruptcy trustees, commercial lenders, and company executives and employees.
