Kristine Kubes

Practice Areas

Since 1998, Kristine has focused her practice as a MN construction attorney, serving design and construction professionals throughout the life of the project. She is a counselor, litigator, mediator, and educator. Clients turn to Kristine for risk management advice, contract drafting and negotiation, payment issues, mechanic's liens, general and professional liability defense, and surety issues. She represents both contractors and design professionals before their licensing Boards. Kristine mediates construction and design disputes, helping parties think outside the box to find their way to resolution. She teaches on ethics and construction law issues.

Kristine served as a public member on the MN licensing Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geo-Science, and Interior Design from 2005 to 2013, where she served as the Board’s Chair from 2009 to 2011.

Kristine is past national Chair of the ABA Forum on Construction Law, the largest construction law association in the world, and a founding member of Building for Good, Inc. a national pro bono nonprofit that connects charities in need of construction law help with construction lawyers to help them free of charge.

The daughter of a carpenter and a teacher, Kristine uses the lessons they taught her every day.
