Kim is a North Carolina Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and before joining Smith Anderson, she worked as a tax consultant with Arthur Andersen, LLP. Kim’s tax and accounting background allows her to assist clients in formulating practical business strategies that are mindful of their tax implications including the development and implementation of tax-efficient business succession and wealth transfer strategies, which includes advice related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and buy-sell arrangements.

Career

After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting, Kim began her career in public accounting as a tax consultant with Arthur Andersen, LLP before starting law school. She graduated from UNC School of Law in 1998 and began her legal career with the Smith Anderson law firm, where she continues to practice today.
