Kim Martin represents real estate developers, investors and owners of residential, commercial, industrial, TOD and mixed-use projects. She has a specific focus on large-scale greenfield and brownfield development projects, including all aspects of land use entitlements—securing approvals for annexations, development agreements, zonings and rezonings, subdivisions, site plans, transferable development rights, public revenue sharing agreements and vested property rights. Kim assists clients with acquisition and disposition of vacant land and improved property, including due diligence, and general real estate development matters. Kim frequently partners with clients on master planned community developments and condominium projects across the Front Range. In this area, her practice includes assisting developers with structuring and implementing common interest community regimes under the Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA).

In addition, Kim counsels clients with respect to urban renewal projects and other public and private financing structures, including statutory improvements districts and so-called public improvements fees, relating to project development and infrastructure costs. Kim’s work in the public financing realm includes public-private partnership developments where she collaborates with multiple stakeholders to create a shared long-term sustainable vision for a project. Her work includes building consensus among elected officials and other governmental participants, special districts, bond and disclosure counsel and other vested parties with respect to such public financing tools.

Between receiving her undergraduate degree in aviation management and receiving her law degree, Kim (who is a licensed pilot) worked in airport management at various airports in Colorado and Washington, specializing in project management and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance matters.

Kim has served as the chair of the firm’s Recruiting Committee, as well as a member of the Compensation Committee. She is currently the firm’s Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
