Career

Kap-You (Kevin) Kim is the founding partner of Peter & Kim in Seoul. Peter & Kim is a dispute resolution practice with offices in Korea, Switzerland, Australia and Singapore.

Over the past 30 years, Kevin has acted as counsel and arbitrator in more than 300 commercial and investment arbitration cases under the rules of all major institutions. His experience ranges across industry sectors like energy, shipping, construction, joint ventures, and project finance to name a few.

Kevin is qualified to practice law in Korea and New York. He holds degrees from Seoul National University (LL.B., 1985) and Harvard Law School (LL.M., 1994). Prior to founding Peter & Kim, Kevin co-founded and led BKL’s International Arbitration & Litigation Practice to great heights – being the first Korean law firm recognized in the GAR 30. Kevin served as Secretary General of ICCA from 2010 to 2014, being the first Asian practitioner to take on such position. Kevin is presently vice president of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
