Katie Hooper

Katie is a Partner, Advocate and the Practice Leader of Mourant’s Jersey Litigation practice.

She joined Mourant’s Jersey Litigation practice in 2012, became a Partner in 2022 and Practice Leader in 2026.

Katie has extensive advocacy and litigation experience, gained both from previous practice as a barrister in England and Wales and latterly as a Jersey practitioner. She has experience in a broad spectrum of litigation matters, including contentious trusts and private client, insolvency, banking disputes, funds disputes and professional negligence.

Katie now has a particular focus on contentious trusts and private client work, as well as insolvency and restructuring work. As well as dealing with hostile litigation, she frequently advises trustees and beneficiaries on various issues which can arise in the administration of trusts.

Katie is qualified STEP Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) and sits on the STEP Jersey technical sub-committee.

Katie is regularly invited to chair and speak at conferences, and regularly publish articles in my areas of expertise.

As a leader of people at Mourant, she recognises the importance of having the tools to nurture and develop others in the profession and workplace and have completed both the Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme (2023) and the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme (2024), both delivered by the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Katie is a passionate advocate for workplace equality and inclusion and a Global Sponsor of Mourant’s employee-led Gender Network.
