Kate’s clients include banks, private equity houses, FTSE 100 national brands and foreign companies, as well as major local businesses. She advises clients on all aspects of corporate and business tax and has significant experience of private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and reorganisations. Kate has been described by the Legal 500 directory as ‘technically excellent’ and is noted for advice given to private equity houses.

Kate’s experience includes:
advising a UK video games production studio on the availability and structuring of video games tax relief;
advising Thorntons plc on the tax and employee incentivisation aspects of the sale of the British chocolatier to Italian confectioner Ferrero International S.A. for £112m; and
acting for MML Capital Partners on its investment into education and training provider, the Learning Curve Group.
Kate joined Shoosmiths in 2014 from Pinsent Masons where she was a senior associate. Previous to that, Kate practised at Addleshaw Goddard for 6 years and trained at Morgan Cole.
