Katarzyna Kopczewska is a commercial lawyer and certified tax advisor with over 15 years of experience in advisory for foreign investors. She graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Łódź and started her career as a lawyer in the Ministry of Treasury, taking part in major privatizations of state owned companies. At that time Katarzyna sat on the supervisory boards of the state owned companies. In 2003 Katarzyna joined business consultancy PwC, and for 13 years focused on tax and financial advisory in mergers and acquisitions with a particular focus on the Polish and Central European real estate market.
Currently, Katarzyna is a partner in the Baker McKenzie Warsaw office where she co-leads the Polish tax practice and sits on the steering committee of tax practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Region.
Katarzyna’s experience covers advisory in M&A and transactions, in particular international structuring of real estate acquisitions, financing schemes and restructuring of group business operations. She has led complex assignments involving various European jurisdictions, and has advised foreign institutional investors, private equity funds, Polish and foreign commercial developers and construction companies. She regularly speaks and publishes on tax matters and on the commercial real estate investment market. She is a member of Polish REIT Association.
