Justin Poplin is a principal at Avek IP, LLC. Companies of all sizes rely on his legal advise on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, licensing, and confidentiality issues. Many clients use Mr. Poplin as outside general counsel because he efficiently prevents and solves problems in ways that minimize disruption to their businesses. He has been the lead patent attorney in litigated matters, and he has argued and won some of the earliest inter partes review (IPR) cases, including the first IPR case invalidating a design patent. His docket has over 75 IPR cases. He has also successfully argued appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and he has helped clients obtain, enforce, license, invalidate, and avoid infringement of patents and trademarks in a wide range of technologies and industries. Mr. Poplin previously served as chair of the Intellectual Property Prosecution & Transactions department in a national law firm.
