Mr. ZOU is the Managing Partner of Guantao Law Firm and serves as the Founding Director of firm’s Family Law and Family Wealth Management Committee, leading the firm’s expansion of family wealth management practice.
In his experienced practice, Mr. Zou has represented numerous multinational companies in various cases, including State Street Bank, Mercedes-Benz, LG Electronics, Mitsubishi, Casio, Radisson, HSBC Bank and Alcatel. He has represented well-known enterprises such as CGGC-UN Power Co., Ltd., Insigma, Huarong Assets, Hundsun and BGI in many offshore and domestic mergers & acquisitions, financing, restructuring and major commercial dispute resolution projects. Mr. ZOU has also served as an independent director of a number of companies, including Zhejiang Wanma, Jingu Group, Noble lift, Jiangnan Chemical, Everich, Sinokorea Life and Orient Group.
• Acting for a company to settle a dispute with its shareholder over the share repurchase right, and the disputed amount was over RMB 200 million.
• Acting as the PRC legal counsel for an agricultural company in Zhejiang in an arbitration against a well-known American investment institution in the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre to resolve disputes regarding mergers and acquisitions by foreign capital. The language of the arbitration was English, and the disputed amount was up to USD800 million.
• Acting as the legal counsel for a state-owned bank, in an international arbitration against an Indian company in LMAA regarding the letter of guarantee dispute, resulting in a settlement agreement between the two parties.
• Acting as the legal counsel for Zhejiang Dazhong Paper Co., Ltd., on the acquisition of assets and restructuring of Zhejiang Sanxing Paper Co., Ltd, with the transaction value of RMB 100 million.
• Acting for Malaysia Asia Airlines in an insurance dispute litigation against AIG.
• Representing a listed dairy company in the HKIAC over a share repurchase dispute, and the disputed amount was US $20 million.
• Representing Insigma in Singapore International Arbitration Centre against Alstom concerning the dispute over its technology license agreement and the non-recognition and enforcement of its arbitral award. The disputed amount was US$ 170 million.
• Acting as corporate counsel and completing the U.S. listing of Ding Xin Ecosystem ( NASDAQ: DXST)and Zhengye Biology (NASDAQ: ZYBT)
