Júlio Martins Júnior is a managing associate and a member of the Cabo Verdean and the Portuguese Bar Associations.
Júlio has more than 15 years' experience in corporate law and finance-related operations, particularly in relation to sales and acquisitions of shares and assets, financing operations, licensing and regulation and M&A. Júlio has led and been involved in major international investment projects in Cabo Verde. His recent transactions include advising over 30 banks operating in the country on financing contracts for large infrastructure and equipment; advising the national aviation company, still the largest privatisation in the country; assisting the national Telecom on a project to construct the second submarine cable connecting South Africa, Cabo Verde and Portugal; and advising the second largest bank in the world, in terms of assets, on a loan agreement for an international credit transaction. He has been part of the teams drafting some of the most recent legislation packages for Cabo Verde. He worked on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in Cabo Verde’s revision and development of qualifications for the construction sector.
