Career
Julian's lP and regulatory practice has been predominantly concerned with pharmaceuticals, but it has covered a diverse range of technologies over the years, including medical devices (in vivo and in vitro), food, telecommunications, genetically modified organisms, medical diagnostics, acoustic materials, industrial packaging, mining and construction equipment.
While his practice has been predominantly litigious, he also provides advice in relation to a range of lP matters and has acted for clients in commercial lP transactions. While having a particular focus on patents, Julian advises on various other types of lP, including confidential information/knowhow, trade marks, copyright and designs.
On the commercial front, Julian's advisory and transactional work often includes providing specialist advice and due diligence support for larger M&A transactions where lP is involved or health/pharmaceutical regulatory issues arise.
ln the health regulatory space, he regularly advises clients on the regimes regulating medicines and medical devices, poisons and the provision of private medical services.
