Josh has a cross-cutting practice in human rights, public and administrative law, public international law, and civil litigation. His expertise in international and domestic human rights is at the root of his experience across these practice areas.
Josh is instructed in judicial reviews in a wide range of fields, including climate change and environment; artificial intelligence; equality and discrimination; homelessness and social welfare; and immigration and modern slavery.
He has acted in significant cases before international courts, including multiple appearances before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights. Josh is also experienced in matters pertaining to State immunity, self-determination, international humanitarian and criminal law, international environmental law, and State responsibility. His extensive expertise in international law distinctively enhances his domestic practice, which often involves complex issues at the intersection of domestic and international law.
In his civil litigation practice, Josh is instructed in complex international group claims before English courts, as well as in domestic claims against public authorities and companies. He is typically instructed in contexts of business and human rights, modern slavery, and environmental destruction.
Josh has been appointed as a member of the EHRC’s panel of counsel.
