Complex commercial real estate transaction representation for U.S. and foreign private equity funds, real estate investment trusts, corporations, governmental entities and developers, with significant experience with REIT and capital fund formations and governance, public and private capital offerings, including syndications; acquisitions of improved and vacant real estate; real estate financing, including securitized loans; subdivision and condominium development; formation and governance of entities; joint venture agreements; ground leasing and leasehold financing; commercial leasing; public-private partnerships with municipal bond funding components; tax increment financing and incentives.
No matter how complex, Joe's emphasis is on keeping the parties engaged and focused on the issues to be resolved for the transaction to come to a successful end. Joe's specific areas of expertise include complex commercial real estate acquisitions and developments, with extensive experience in ground leasing, entity formation and public/private development agreements, as well as conventional, securitized and tax-increment financing.
Joe joined the firm in 1998. He was elevated to Principal in 2000, has served as the Deputy Leader of the Real Estate Practice Group since 2004 and was Managing Director from 2009 to 2021.
