José Lasa Azpeitia

Partner of Laffer Abogados since 2009.

Before Laffer Abogados, he developed his professional career for five years in the Employment and Sports Law Department of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira.

José has experience in employment counseling for National corporations, multinational companies, senior managers as well as Sports & Entertainment, providing counseling to athletes, artists, producers, etc.

Due to his prior experience as a professional athlete, he has profound knowledge of the sports sector and of the needs of the contracting parties.

He specializes in soccer and basketball player transfers, providing advice on the diverse legal issues related to transactions, contracting image rights, Sponsorships, TPO, claims for intermediaries, etc.

In addition, he has broad experience in International disputes before national and International bodies and in arbitrations before chambers and Arbitration courts of FIFA and FIBA as well as before the Arbitration Court of Sports in Lausanne (TAS).

Member of the Bar Association of Madrid and of the AIAF (International Association of Football Lawyers).

Coauthor of several books regarding sports law and frequent collaborator in specialized legal media and in press media (Aranzadi, Marca, Iusport, etc.)
