Career
José Del Chiaro is the founder of Advocacia José Del Chiaro, a leading Brazilian boutique specializing in Antitrust and Competition. He was the federal government’s first Secretary of Economic Law (SDE) and acted for many years as a consultant to FIESP, the São Paulo Industry Federation. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association and the São Paulo Attorneys’ Institute, and a co-founder of the Brazilian Institute of Competition, Consumption and International Trade Law (IBRAC).
Del Chiaro is recognized as one of Brazil’s top Competition/Antitrust specialists. He has extensive experience in legal strategies and risk minimization as he has handled several cases before the Brazilian antitrust agency and Courts. He has also represented clients in administrative and judicial proceedings involving consumer protection bodies, regulatory agencies and the Public Prosecutors Office.
José Del Chiaro published several articles on Competition Law and is frequently heard by news outlets on matters involving Competition/Antitrust and Regulatory Law. He has also co-authored books on Economic Law.
