Joris van Horzen heads our multidisciplinary FinTech team and advises financial institutions, (payment) platforms and other FinTechs from start-ups to scale-ups on a wide array of regulatory issues. He has a deep knowledge of online payments and has been involved in may innovation projects within the financial industry. He specialises in payments, embedded finance and FinTech contracting. He’s a well-established name in the FinTech scene for many years and is considered a “real” FinTech lawyer.
Joris also represents both lenders and corporate borrowers on (cross-border) finance transactions, including investment grade facilities and asset-based lending facilities. His finance practice also covers bond-issues and NPL-transactions.
As a lawyer, he has the benefit of spending various secondments at ABN Amro, NatWest and an international law firm in London.
