Jorge Gaxiola Moraila

Jorge is one of the main legal advisors for the leading financial institutions in Mexico, the Mexican Association of Banks and the Business Coordinating Council.

Jorge has been consistently ranked highly among international guides, such as Chambers and Partners.

He has participated in several of the most relevant legal reforms in constitutional and commercial matters on behalf of his clients, including the Judicial Reform (2024 and 2026), Ley de Amparo, AML Law (2025) and others like Fintech Law, Financial Reform, the Amparo Law, and the new Federal Antitrust Law, among others. He also participates supporting litigation teams in judicial cases with systemic impact in investment and financial sector at de Mexican Supreme Court.

Jorge has acted as an advisor to the federal government regarding the design and implementation of Round Zero. Besides also acting as an arbitrator in commercial disputes and as an advisor in commercial bankruptcy proceedings. He has been a consultant on constitutional and financial aspects during litigation and has coordinated multidisciplinary teams on behalf of his clients.

He was appointed by the President of Mexico as an advisor to PRODECON and has been a member of the National Bioethics Council (2010-2016).

He has been Chairman of the Rule of Law Commission of the Business Coordinating Council and Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee for the Mexican Stock Exchange. Jorge is member of the Board of Directors of AXA Seguros and Chairman of its Audit Committee.
