John is a highly experienced securities lawyer who is US and Hong Kong qualified. He spent a number of years as a senior in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs with primary legal coverage responsibility for its investment banking division in Asia ex-Japan covering the division’s full range of products, notably capital markets transactions including SEC-registered, Rule 144A/Regulation S, and Rule 144 offerings, as well as M&A transactions. He was also a partner in private practice at leading international law firms, more recently working for a US firm where he was co-head of their China Capital Markets practice. He was also a corporate partner with a leading UK firm and head of their US securities and capital markets practice for Asia. He has also practised in New York and Hong Kong with a leading Wall Street law firm.

John served for a number of years as Deputy Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
