Johannes approach to work is characterized by his quick grasp of legal challenges and his dedicated work ethic. Johannes works closely with his clients to ensure that their legal representation is tailored to their needs at all times. Johannes has particular experience in dealing with high-profile court cases and planning appropriate litigation tactics.

Johannes has been representing clients in some of the most significant court cases in Austria in recent years; including City of Linz v. BAWAG or CA Immobilien Anlagen AG v. Republic of Austria.

Career

Johannes graduated in 2005 with a Magister iuris from the University of Vienna and the Université de Fribourg (Switzerland), completing his studies in six semesters and finishing top of his class. He later earned a Doctor iuris from the University of Vienna, writing his doctoral thesis in corporate law under Prof. Dr. Dellinger. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a court clerk at the Commercial Court of Vienna. Between 2008 and 2016, he served as a university assistant to Prof. Franz Zehetner and, alongside his academic work, gained first experience as an associate at renowned commercial law firms in Vienna. In 2013, he passed the Austrian bar exam with honors (“ausgezeichneter Erfolg”).

He practiced as a lawyer at Wildmoser/Koch & Partner from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he became a naming partner at Aigner Lehner Zuschin Attorneys at Law. From 2016 to 2017, he also worked as a Senior Scientist at TU Wien, heading the area of Private Commercial and Corporate Law. Since 2022, Johannes Lehner has been a university lecturer for civil law and civil procedural law at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. He also serves as an arbitrator on the panel of the Permanent Neutral Arbitration Court of the Austrian Football League.
