Jocelyn Ledward is one of the leading juniors practising in corporate and financial crime. She is instructed at all stages of an investigation across the full range of offences including business-related fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering and serious corporate health and safety breaches.
Jocelyn advises and represents corporate and professional/director clients in business-related fraud, health and safety, trade descriptions and insolvency cases, and the full range of business-related/financial crime issues including money laundering. She has acted for clients in matters investigated and prosecuted by the CPS, HMRC, the SFO, the OFT, the HSE, the NHS Counter Fraud Authority and others.
She acted for John Scouler, one of the Tesco directors charged by the SFO with fraud and false accounting. Following an eight-week trial at Southwark Crown Court, the defendants were acquitted at the close of the prosecution case.
She also represented a director defendant in the first prosecution by the OFT for cartel offences under the Enterprise Act, following the landmark “Marine Hose” plea agreement with the US DoJ. She was junior prosecution counsel in the successful prosecution of Sterecycle for corporate manslaughter. She was appointed Junior Treasury Counsel at the Central Criminal Court in 2014.
