Joanna Ouyang is a partner at Baker McKenzie's Taipei office. She focuses her practice on dispute resolution, intellectual property, privacy, and technology law.
Prior to joining the Firm, Joanna served as a judge at the Taipei & New Taipei District Courts, as well as the Intellectual Property (IP) Court, accumulating extensive experience handling a variety of civil, criminal, commercial, and IP-related cases. She also worked as a research judge at the Judicial Yuan judge (2014~2017), participating in discussions and negotiations on numerous legislative amendments, particularly in the areas of finance, economics, antitrust, IP, telecommunications, and healthcare.
Since joining the Firm, Joanna has leveraged her substantial litigation experience and strategic analysis, argumentation, and negotiations skills to achieve favorable outcomes for her clients.
Additionally, Joanna is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), and is knowledgeable in Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
