Litigation Funding

Jesús Rodrigo Lavilla is a State lawyer currently on voluntary leave of absence. During his time in active service, he represented the State, its public bodies and its civil servants in civil, criminal, administrative and employment courts. He began his professional career in the private sector as Head of Legal Affairs at Iberia Airlines. In this role, amongst other responsibilities, he coordinated complex litigation across the 46 countries to which the airline flew. Since 2014, he has been working for the JB Capital Group, chaired by Mr Javier Botín. In addition to serving as secretary to the board, he leads investment in litigious assets through PLA Litigation Funding. Since 2014, Jesús Rodrigo has served as a director on investment funds exposed to contingent and illiquid assets. He is an expert in capital markets transactions, distressed transactions and complex litigation.
