He obtained his law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City) where he also obtained a degree as Tax Crimes Specialist, coursing graduate studies in criminal law at the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain. He received a Masters’ Degree in Criminal Law from the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Penales

He specializes in criminal law litigation and consulting. He was an associate member at Luengo Creel, where he worked from 2001 to 2009. In 2009 he founded his own firm, Del Río y Moreno de Leija Abogados.

He has acted as consultant in the elaboration of several criminal law frameworks for State governments.

He is a tenured professor in Criminal Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho.

He is a member of Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados (BMA).
