Jesús Sol Gil is an expert in Tax, Corporate and Finance law in Venezuela, with knowledge in these same areas in other countries, as a result of his experience in local and international operations, as well as the national and international clientele he has handled throughout his years of practice and participation in professional organisations.

Career

More than 35 years’ experience, including KPMG (21 years) and Lega Abogados (10 years) . Tax and corporate lawyer with wide experience and particularly strong expertise in corporate taxes, international taxes, tax planning and tax litigation. Managing partner of Sol Caballero & Asociados and Executive President of Lextendi, that is a local boutique network, and director of editorial commitment of Tax News that is a tax news portal to go live in 2022. He has held important leadership positions within the Latin American Institute of Tax Law, Venezuelan Association of Tax Law, Venezuelan – American Chamber (Venamcham) and he is member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).

Professional Memberships

Partner Jesús Sol Gil was named Honorary Member of the Venezuelan Tax Association upon expiration of his term as President of such association, and was Chairman (2018-2020) of the Tax Committee of Venezuela-American Chamber (Venamcham), member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA); he was unanimously elected for the Committee for the Reform of the Regulations of the Tax Conferences by the Board of Directors of the Latin American Institute of Tax Law and has been unanimously elected President of the Venezuelan Association of Financial Law (2020-2022). Representative at the Latin American Conference on Tax Law in Montevideo 2018, he was appointed in Tax Litigation panel about Transfer Prices in Latin America and to speak in the session about taxes of Group economy in Latin America. Partner Jesús Sol-Gil is the only Venezuelan ex-president of the Latin American Tax Law Institute. He has participated in committee of taxes in Board Director Venezuela-American Chamber (Venamcham).

He has been moderator and speaker of dialogue on fiscal policies in Latin America about economic recovery for International Fiscal Association (IFA).

Partner Jesús Sol-Gil have more than 60 publications in Tax Law and more than 100 national and international conferences about Tax Law and coordinated more than 10 books in Venezuela and Latin-America, including a participation in the 50 Anniversary of the Venezuelan Tax Association Book with an article on international tax transparency and tax heavens.
