Jennifer E. Johnsen is a partner in the Greenville, South Carolina office of Gallivan White Boyd and serves as Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Insurance Group. A highly respected trial lawyer with more than 30 years of litigation experience, Jennifer is recognized nationally for her work in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, as well as for her leadership within the legal profession.

Jennifer represents insurers in complex coverage disputes involving a broad range of policies, including Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, Commercial Auto, Garage Keeper’s Liability, Personal Auto, and Commercial Property policies. She has extensive experience handling extra-contractual and bad faith claims and advising insurers on coverage issues at every stage of the claims process. In recognition of her distinguished coverage practice, Jennifer was named a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel and is ranked by Chambers USA for Insurance.

Beyond her insurance practice, Jennifer represents clients in ERISA and non-ERISA benefits litigation involving disability, health care, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment claims. She also maintains an active business and commercial litigation practice, representing corporations and businesses in a wide range of complex disputes.

Jennifer is widely recognized for her leadership in the legal community. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and is a member of its Executive Committee. Her longstanding commitment to legal education and professional excellence was recognized with the FDCC’s prestigious John Alan Appleman Award. Jennifer also serves on the boards of Lawyers for Civil Justice and DRI and is a past president of the Greenville County Bar Association.

Known for her responsiveness, practical judgment, and dedication to client service, Jennifer works closely with clients to develop effective litigation and coverage strategies while consistently striving to exceed expectations.
