Javier has served as an arbitrator in over 30 international disputes under the rules of the major arbitral institutions such as the Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Madrid International Arbitration Center - Ibero American Arbitration Center (CIAM – CIAR), the Arbitration Court of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Court of the Madrid Bar Association, the Barcelona Arbitration Tribunal (TAB), the Arbitration and Conflict Resolution Center of the University of Peru, or the Santiago Arbitration and Mediation Centre, among others.
Javier’s practice includes arbitrating disputes in the field of banking and financial law in cases related to contractual breaches, debt restructurings, conflicts over financial derivatives, and disputes regarding bank guarantees.
Javier has also acted in post M&A disputes in proceedings concerning price adjustment clauses and breaches of sale purchase agreements.
In the field of insurance law, his experience includes disputes over policy coverage, large-scale claims, and contractual liability.
Within the engineering and construction sector, Javier has been appointed arbitrator in disputes related to large infrastructure projects, including claims regarding the execution of EPC contracts, construction delays, cost overruns, and construction defects.
His deep knowledge of international contracts was gained over years of experience arbitrating complex disputes in energy, transportation, and industrial development projects.
