Javier Diez-Hochleitner is Partner at ADH Lawyers and Chaired Professor of Public International Law and European Union Law, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). He was Dean of the Faculty of Law of that university.

He has acted as counsel, legal expert or arbitrator in more than 40 commercial arbitrations (either ad hoc arbitrations or arbitrations administered by the ICC, CIMA, the Madrid Arbitration Court and NIA; dealing with energy, construction, distribution and infrastructure contracts; located in Barcelona, Bogotá, The Hague, Lima, London, Madrid, Miami, Panama and Paris; and conducted in English or Spanish) and in several investment arbitrations (ad hoc UNCITRAL and ICSID)

He has advised and prepared numerous legal reports in the field of EU Law (state aids, internal market, commercial policy and intellectual and industrial property), and has acted as counsel or has advised in various proceedings before the General Court and the European Court of Justice (state aids, competition law and industrial property).

He has acted as Counsel before the ECHR and has acted as legal expert in international law and EU law in various proceedings before the Spanish tribunals, including the Spanish Constitutional Court.
