Jantina Hiemstra specialises in commercial litigation and collective redress. She is particularly recognised for her work on complex mass damage claims and class action proceedings, advising and representing both individual claimants and large groups in high-value disputes involving novel liability issues.

Her practice spans product liability, consumer protection and strategic litigation, often with cross-border dimensions. She combines her litigation practice with a strong academic profile, having obtained a PhD on product liability. She regularly publishes and speaks on liability law and class actions and serves as an editor of the Maandblad voor Vermogensrecht.

Career

Prior to joining Finch in 2025, she was an associate professor at the University of Groningen and practised at Hausfeld, where she was involved in follow-on competition claims and collective actions.
