Career
Jan is a partner in Bird & Bird's Düsseldorf office. He leads the German regulatory and administrative team, which is one of the most highly regarded in Germany.
As a specialist lawyer and coordinator of large and complex infrastructure and compliance projects with in-depth technical know-how in information technology and public procurement - as well as a TÜV-certified external data protection officer and IT compliance manager - he focuses on the planning, implementation and reorganisation of high-profile technology and infrastructure projects in the public sector, as well as on in-court and out-of-court litigation, mediation and arbitration.
He specialises in public procurement and contract law, IT and communications technology law, and competition and antitrust law. Jan Byok has extensive experience in project management and in-depth knowledge of sectors such as defence and security, technology and communications, healthcare, energy and utilities (water, energy and waste management), transport and logistics (ÖPNV, SPNV) as well as planning and construction.
In addition to his own publications, he writes for legal and business journals.
