Jacqui Callan

Jacqui is a Partner and heads our criminal defence team, having joined the firm in 2016. With over 30 years of experience in the criminal justice system, she has a proven track record in the field. Jacqui holds the distinction of being one of the first defence Higher Court Advocates on the Leicester circuit and is known for her confident and persuasive advocacy skills.

Jacqui’s expertise encompasses defending a wide range of criminal allegations, with particular expertise in defending serious sexual allegations, including rape, historic sexual abuse and indecent images. She is also experienced in defending murder cases, drug-related offences, motoring and regulatory matters.

Jacqui is highly regarded in UK legal rankings. Jacqui’s team is ranked in Chambers 2024 for Crime, East Midlands in Band 1, which is a testament to the team’s exceptional abilities and achievements. In addition, Jacqui is ranked by Chambers 2024 for Crime as an individual, which is particularly impressive given she is the only criminal defence solicitor in the East Midlands to achieve this recognition.
