Ivan Merrow

Ivan is a litigator, construction lawyer and trusted advisor. Cutting through legal complexity, he delivers pragmatic advice in times of conflict. Clients appreciate Ivan’s ability to understand their business, distill complex issues into understandable and impactful advice, and follow through with decisive action. During the course of his active litigation practice, Ivan has represented organizations and individuals before all levels of court in Ontario, in arbitrations and Construction Act adjudications. Ivan acts for individuals and organizations across the real estate and construction supply chain: owners, contractors, subcontractors and engineers. Ivan’s industry-focused practice focuses on resolving complex disputes in the sectors that drive Canada’s economic development.

Ivan has consistently held leadership roles in organizations dedicated to excellence in the practice of construction law. He is currently a board member of the Society of Construction Law North America, an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Section (“Section”) and previously served as Co-Chair of the Section’s Legislative Reform Sub-Committee. Ivan recently served as the Section’s liaison to the Civil Rules Review Working Group’s Phase 2 Consultation.
