Adv. Israel Shimonov, one of Israel’s foremost lawyers in the field of capital markets, began his legal career i n 1990 as an intern at Prof. Joseph Gross’s law firm – Gross, Kleinhendler, Hodak, Halevy, Greenberg & Co., where he worked an additional two years as an attorney. In 1993, Adv. Shimonov founded the law firm Shimonov & Co., which today is among Israel’s leading law firms in the field of securities and capital markets. He has over twenty years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, specializing in securities law and corporate law, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions in Israel.

Shimonov has been ranked as a leading lawyer in his field by the top International and Israeli ranking-guides, including Chambers, BDI, Dun’s 100, as well as Maariv newspaper’s list of Israel’s best lawyers in securities and capital markets. Over the years, he has represented a broad range of clients in hundreds of public offerings as well as hundreds of capital raisings and private placements in the private and institutional market, with an aggregate funding amount of billions of NIS. He legal advice to his clients on a wide gamut of issues in corporate and securities law and represents them before the Israel Securities Authority and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). Adv. Shimonov is personally involved in every case handled by the firm.

In recent years, Adv. Shimonov has represented clients in upwards of a hundred mergers and acquisitions of public companies in Israel, including high-profile and complex mergers of shell corporations carried out in the Israeli capital market.
