Ddumba Ismail is a lawyer by profession and an Advocate enrolled with the Rwanda Bar Association.

Ismail has been in legal practice since 2012 practicing in Uganda and Rwanda in the capacities of legal assistant, legal associate, senior associate, partner and consultant during which time he has obtained vast experience in corporate practice and legal advisory. During his years of practice, Ismail has interfaced with and provided legal advise to a range of high profile corporate clients including; Access Bank

Rwanda, Equity Bank Rwanda, Akagera Business Group Africa, Premier Bet Rwanda, Sonarwa General and Sonarwa Life, Prime nsurance Ltd, Urwego Bank, Letshego Rwanda Ltd, Bank of Kigali, CIMERWA, China Road & Bridge Construction Company, Toyota Rwanda, Caritas Rwanda, Strawtec Building Solutions among others. He possesses vast knowledge and experience in corporate and commercial law

matters, taxation law as well as labour law. He is also well versed with other areas of law such as intellectual property law, insurance, arbitration, banking and insolvency law among others. He has represented various clients in arbitration matters with a value of up to $ 15,000,000 before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC, Kigali

International Arbitration Center (KIAC) among others.

Ismail DDUMBA holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from Makerere University Law School in Uganda, a Masters Degree in Law (LLM) from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD). He also holds a Certificate in trademark examination from the USPTO Global Intellectual Property Academy, and a Certificate in

International Arbitration from SOAS University of London, and a YALI Network Certificate in Human Rights.

He is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and East Africa Law Society.
