Experience

Ingrid S. Martin focuses her practice on the intersection of criminal defense and healthcare law, where a seemingly minor infraction can rapidly escalate into licensing and accreditation challenges, allegations of false claims submissions, as well as exclusion from Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal healthcare programs. She also represents healthcare providers accused of misconduct ranging from violations of medical staff bylaws to alleged violations of criminal laws.

A partner at the firm, Ms. Martin represents a broad range of healthcare providers and entities, including pharmacies, medical device companies, medical practices, physical therapy businesses, adult day health programs, home health agencies, dental practices, and individual medical professionals.

With two decades of criminal defense and civil litigation experience, Ms. Martin has successfully handled trials and appeals in state and federal courts, as well as agency proceedings. She routinely counsels her clients in investigations brought by the DOJ, FDA, DEA, Office of the Inspector General of Health and Human Services, the Massachusetts Attorney General, and state District Attorneys' Offices.

Ms. Martin has significant experience assisting medical professionals appearing before licensing boards, including the Board of Registration in Medicine and the Board of Registration in Pharmacy. She also guides clients through peer review proceedings initiated by hospitals or insurance companies, as well as through audits and accreditation procedures.

Her practice also encompasses advising clients on contractual and business litigation matters where her familiarity with the healthcare regulatory environment is often critical.

Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Ms. Martin speaks German and French, and is an avid skier as required by her Swiss heritage.
