Mr Azizov specialises on commercial contracts, corporate law, including mergers and acquisition transactions, competition and anti-trust law, litigation, oil & gas and energy sector. He has expertise in mining, banking and finance matters, telecom industry sectors. Mr. Azizov advises major regional and international oil & gas, telecommunication companies, development banks and governments on contractual and regulatory frameworks.
He practices law since 1993 and is a licensed lawyer since 1996. He was a local partner at Gouldens Central Asia Ltd (a subdivision of Gouldens Solicitors Ltd (UK)) from 1996 to 2002. Senior Partner in the current firm since 2002. Mr. Azizov has academic background and participated in the working groups that have drafted the Civil Code, the Law on Banks and Banking Activity of Uzbekistan, and other various regulatory acts in the sphere of securities, legal profession, investment funds, judiciary and others (from 1996 to 2019).
