Ignacio Figuerol

Ignacio has extensive experience advising Spanish and foreign insurers and re-insurers in domestic and international insurance litigation and arbitration and non-contentious insurance in the D&O, financial institutions and professional indemnity fields, in Spain and Latin America. In particular, he has handled major cases involving public offering of securities, directors and officers, financial institutions, auditors, insurance brokers, accountants and lawyers.

His experience also covers a wide range of reinsurance disputes. He has recently advised insurers in connection with the few class actions in the US against Spanish companies. His practice also includes drafting and adapting insurance policies and reinsurance contracts to Spanish law.

Fluent in English and Catalan, he regularly speaks at seminars and conferences on directors and officers and professional indemnity insurance both in Spain and in the London market.

Ignacio has also written several insurance-related articles and books (co-author of the books “Ley de Contrato de Seguro: Jurisprudencia comentada” and “Directors´ Liability and Indemnification”).
