Postgraduate degree in information technology law (‘Grotius’) and studied at Tilburg University, VU University Amsterdam and Utrecht University.
Started in 1999 as an IT lawyer at Deloitte in Amsterdam. Admitted to the Dutch Bar as attorney-at-law ('advocaat') in 2001.
Worked as an in-house lawyer for among others Shell and DTG (European Directories).

Teacher at the Data Protection postgraduate program at Grotius Academy. Guest lecturer e.g. at the VU University Amsterdam, Leiden University and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Treasurer and board member of the Netherlands Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR).
Board member of Stichting Massaschade & Consument which initiated a collective action against TikTok Technology Limited and others (WAMCA).
Mediator at the Stichting Geschillenoplossing Automatisering (SGOA) to assist conflicting parties in their negotiations.
Secretary of Stichting Universiteitsfonds Tilburg, a committed alumni network that supports academic research at Tilburg University.
Also co-founder of the carnival association Kaaj Kapot.
