Hubert Blanc-Jouvan is Head of the Ashurst Paris Financial Regulation practice, part of the Finance department.

He specialises in financial services law and advises financial institutions on a wide range of regulatory issues. Focus areas include licensing requirements, conduct of business rules (in particular related to MiFID2-MiFIR), distribution of financial products, asset management and funds, contractual and compliance documentation, prudential supervision and market abuse. Hubert has developed a particular experience in financial market infrastructures (including central counterparties – CCPs or clearing houses, and central securities depositories - CSDs) and is the main counsel of the French CCP, LCH SA.

Hubert also advises financial institutions in connection with the structuring and documentation of OTC market transactions, including equity derivatives, securities lending, repurchase transactions, share buyback transactions and financial collateral arrangements.

Other practices: capital markets, derivatives and structured finance, due to his strong involvement in derivative transactions and regulatory aspects linked to derivative transactions (including in particular requirements resulting from the new EU Regulations applicable to derivatives – EMIR; and disclosure and transparency requirements for transaction in shares of listed companies).

On regulatory issues, Hubert Blanc-Jouvan is regarded by clients as one of the most competent lawyers in the Paris market.
