Hakan Özgökçen is a partner and head of Competition Practice at Esin Attorney Partnership, member firm of Baker & McKenzie International, a Swiss Verein. He has been leading a team of associates and managing day-to-day operations full time since he joined Esin in March 2020. Hakan has almost 20 years of extensive experience in competition law, administrative law and M&A.

Hakan has represented defendants and complainants in complex antitrust investigations concerning all forms of abuse of dominant position allegations, along with merger notifications, Phase II reviews, cartel investigations, leniency applications and competition litigation cases. He also provides daily competition law advice to multinational and national companies on a retainer basis and delivers competition law training. He has also represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish courts. His work encompasses a wide range of industries, including online platforms, marketplaces, retail, consumer electronics, financial information services, banking, chemicals, packaging materials, construction, infrastructure, medical devices, automotive, transportation, cement, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

In addition, Hakan is active in writing and speaking on competition law matters, having authored and co-authored many articles and essays and spoken at several conferences and symposia. He also regularly teaches competition law for postgraduate programs at various reputable universities in Türkiye.
