Grant Lazarus specialises in financial disputes that result from the breakdown of marriage (financial remedy) and of cohabitation (Trusts of Land and Schedule 1 Children Act).

In cases of financial remedy on divorce, Grant is nationally noted for his expertise on all aspects of pension sharing. He also has huge experience in disputes that include farming (and other)partnerships, companies (owned solely by the parties or with others), and the consideration of third party rights. (Often, but not always, the "Bank of Mum and Dad").

Grant is an IFLA appointed Arbitrator for both financial remedy disputes and TOLATA claims. He also offers Early Neutral Evaluations (private FDRs) in both fields.

Career

Grant lectures nationally (in person and by video link) on the areas of his interest. In March 2023, he lectured for White Paper in Manchester. In May 2023 he lectured at the Judicial College. In June 2023, Grant Chaired the White Paper seminar on Financial Remedy in London

Publications

Grant is a member of the Pensions Advisory Group, which is currently engaged in the drafting of the 2nd Edition of the PAG Report for the assistance of practitioners and the judiciary. The 2nd Edition will be the result of massive collaboration between many professionals. Grant (with others) largely redrafted the sections on Apportionment and Offsetting.
