Partner, Gerard, joined Browne Jacobson from Capsticks in April 2017 and is a recognised leading public health lawyer. He is based in the Manchester Office although his following is national and he is advising health care leaders across the country.
He has extensive experience representing NHS bodies in judicial reviews and advising on service reconfiguration. He regularly advises in this regard in complex mental health cases, for example recently advising NHS England on the revised guidance for commissioners to be published on section 117 Mental Health Act 1983.
He continues to be at the forefront of advising the NHS nationally on the development of Accountable Care Systems and is regularly sought for advice on all matters relating to public law. His expertise and pragmatic approach helps clients deliver on their plans and understand how to deal with challenges. The coming year’s focus is on the enormous task of redesigning and developing health and social care systems, as well as advice on how to meet GDPR requirements.
