Career

Georgeta Gavriloiu is a competition lawyer with nearly three decades of experience, uniquely combining extensive regulatory and advisory expertise.

She began her career in 1997 at the Romanian Competition Council (RCC), initially as a case handler, later joining the RCC’s state aid task force preparing Romania’s EU accession. Subsequently, Georgeta served as Director of the RCC’s Industry and Energy Directorate, overseeing landmark antitrust cases in key industrial and energy sectors. She represented the RCC within the European Competition Network (ECN) and served as a member of the Consultative Committee of Romania’s National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE).

In 2013, Georgeta transitioned to private practice, joining the competition law team of a leading international firm in Romania as a senior associate. She later moved to another top-tier Romanian law firm, advancing to partner position and specializing in competition and energy matters.

In 2022, she founded GG Law Office, further consolidating her reputation as a trusted advisor who helps companies navigate complex competition law and regulatory challenges.

Alongside her legal practice, Georgeta serves as a Senior Competition Policy Expert for the World Bank, advising on competition law and regulatory matters at an international level.
