Advice and litigation in all fields of IP, with focus on trademarks, advertising, unfair competition, anti-counterfeiting, IT-related IP issues, contracts/licensing.

Clients benefit from his outstanding expertise in both prosecution and litigation: Gallus manages global trademark portfolios and counsels on filing and prosecution strategies, licensing and enforcement, including oppositions, cancellations and customs seizures. He has extensive experience in litigation before courts and administrative bodies, and has been involved in several landmark cases before the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, notably on the protection and infringement of non-traditional trademarks and trade dress, unfair competition matters as well as domain name disputes.

Career

University of St. Gallen (lic. iur. 1995, Dr. iur. 2000); Max-Planck-Institute for IP in Munich (1998/1999); admitted to the Bar 2001; joined Troller Hitz Troller in 2001, Partner since 2006.

Gallus is the author of numerous publications on IP law and a frequent speaker on IP-related topics, notably at the congress and educational trainings of the Swiss Bar Association.

Gallus has been regularly recommended by various international publications for years, including Chambers Europe, WTR 1000, WTR Global Leaders, Lexology (WWL) IP-Trademark Thought Leaders, Best Lawyers, WIPR Leaders and MIP’s IP Stars.
