Career

Fabio Torres is a Brazilian lawyer with over two decades of experience in insurance, reinsurance, civil liability, surety, financial lines, aviation, marine, property, and energy. He graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC‑Rio) and has built a distinguished career combining technical expertise and strategic vision.

He began his career serving as Legal Coordinator at IRB Brazil Re, where he gained deep knowledge of claims regulation and complex litigation. In 2000, he founded F. Torres Advogados, a boutique firm dedicated to advising insurers, reinsurers, brokers, corporations, and economic groups in high‑stakes disputes and regulatory matters.

His practice focuses on claims regulation, judicial and extrajudicial advisory, and complex dispute resolution, including arbitration and cross‑border litigation. Fabio is frequently engaged in drafting technical opinions, specialized consultations, and recovery actions, with a strong emphasis on risk management and loss mitigation. He has successfully represented clients in landmark cases, earning recognition for his ability to combine legal precision with business‑oriented solutions.

Fabio is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, contributing to the development of the insurance and reinsurance market and mentoring new professionals in the field.
