Emily concentrates her practice in the areas of healthcare regulatory law and compliance, with a focus on assisting healthcare providers comply with state and federal laws and regulations including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Physician Self-Referral Law, Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and the No Surprises Act. Additionally, Emily has developed an expertise in drafting a comprehensive range of agreements for healthcare clients, including provider and nonprovider employment agreements, management services agreements, affiliation agreements, software as a service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, business associate agreements, and various agreements for corporate transactions involving healthcare entities. Emily’s practice also includes a concentration in nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, specializing in corporate formation, obtaining, and maintaining nonprofit and federal tax-exempt status, corporate governance issues, restructuring, and dissolution. Prior to pursuing her law degree, Emily worked in the nonprofit sector as a development and fundraising specialist.
