Practice Areas

Emily Anderson advises owners, real estate developers, contractors and design-builders on every aspect of the design and construction lifecycle. She brings extensive experience, handling bothlitigation and transactional matters for world-class projects.

Emily’s work spans a broad array of construction project types, including major vertical construction, industrial and energy developments, infrastructure, sports and entertainment venues, tenant build-outs and luxury residential properties. She navigates multiple delivery methods, such as CMAR, GMP, design-build, P3 and EPC, and serves as a member of the American Arbitration Association National Roster of Construction Arbitrators.

Clients rely on Emily for sophisticated representation, from obtaining summary judgment for a Brooklyn skyscraper developer, to first-chairing arbitration for a solar project, to defending a general contractor in a nine-month public-private transportation arbitration. She guides stakeholders through complex disputes, including airport terminal redevelopment and negotiates essential construction contracts.

Her practice includes pre-project counseling, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, managing disputes before and during construction, and resolving claims using mediation, dispute resolution boards, arbitration and litigation.

Beyond her legal work, Emily is active in industry leadership. She chairs a division of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law and leads the Law & Legislation Subcommittee for the New York City Metro Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America. She also co-leads the firm’s New York office Impact Ambassador program, organizing service activities and fundraising efforts.
