Practice Areas
Duncan Craig is a Midlands-based licensing lawyer and has been practising as a barrister since 2013. His practice covers applications for, variations to, and expedited reviews of a Premises Licence. He also represents clients at all stages of any prosecution under the Licensing Acts and is extremely experienced in litigation at committee and court stages.
Duncan is distinct from other barristers in being Public Access qualified and authorised to litigate, with much of his practice resembling that of a solicitor in licensing. As such, he is able to undertake licensing work from simple applications through to personally representing clients at hearings.
Duncan has built his practice up to be one of the busiest licensing lawyers in the country and has appeared at hearings in front of over 100 local authorities in England and Wales. He has an extensive client base of quality operators ranging from independent pubs, bars and restaurants through to small groups, multi-event space operations and large festivals with tens of thousands of people in attendance.
Duncan frequently undertakes work for his clients in several other areas of law with one of the main areas of concern being around commercial leases, rent arrears and the behaviour of some landlords. He is currently receiving numerous instructions around lease disputes and has built a wealth of experience in achieving successful outcomes for tenants.
