Drew Houghton

J. Drew Houghton, a native Texan, has practiced insurance law since 1998. He began his career in insurance defense before shifting to plaintiff representation in 2003. In 2011, he joined a South Oklahoma City plaintiff firm, representing numerous tornado victims across the state. Prior to joining Merlin Law Group in July 2018, Drew frequently partnered with the firm as co-counsel on over 100 Oklahoma bad faith cases.

As a seasoned trial lawyer, Drew focuses on insurance and bad faith litigation, advocating for both commercial and residential policyholders whose insurance companies have failed to act fairly during the claims process. His legal insights are grounded in early career experiences with Texas civil litigation firms representing both sides, giving him a comprehensive perspective on litigation and trial strategy.

Drew practices in all Oklahoma State and Federal Courts and has argued before the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American and Oklahoma Bar Associations, the American and Oklahoma Associations for Justice, and the Robert J. Turner Inn of Court. He is admitted to practice law in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Washington State.
